getting in the word.jpg

So, I’m waking up this morning and getting into the word first thing.  It’s my challenge and goal to spend the first hour of my day in prayer and bible study before I get into the world of social media.

You see, I do love social media, and it really is my job as a mom who works from home to be connected with people, to interact and spend time on the interwebs.  But, if I am not connected in the Word first…my day is a wreck.

I am a mess.  I am a blubbering idiot just spending my whole entire day swimming upstream trying to do life all on my own.

When I wake up, make my coffee and spend the first part of my day in prayer and study, it’s like I am a different person.  So, not only do I get connected with my Jesus, the connections that I am making in real life, all day long, whether on social media or in person, or more fruitful, more intentional and more wonderful.

I am such a checkmark person!  I seriously love checking off all the things.  So if you are a checkmark person you will totally understand how I feel when I say I have no idea what to do without a list to check off.  I found a bunch of great bible reading guides that you can print off and check daily!  Let me know which one you like!

21, 90, 6 month and a year reading plans!

So many different plans!  Chronological, Classic, New Testament, etc…

John 17:23

I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

i’ve got 5 minutes.

5 minutes while the baby eats and before he signs, “all done” and starts to scream at me.

5 minutes to describe how hard this season is in my life.

5 minutes to share that I am not ok. Even though I look ok.

So instead I am going to spend that 5 minutes sharing with you how much joy my garden is bringing me.

I haven’t had one in over 5 years.  And my depressing little peace of land that my husband put the cute little fence around so many years ago has just sat there and made me sad.

So this year I got to plant tomatoes, and raspberries, corn, squash, tons of sunflowers and probably more things that will be surprising me soon!

And every morning, afternoon and evening I walk out there and take deep breaths.  I forget about being sad, and wanting to be all alone, wishing I could just run far far away forever and ever.

I look for weeds that haven’t sprouted yet.

I pretend the seeds have sprouted and my garden is very very full and beautiful like in a magazine.

It brings me so. much. peace.  So. much. joy.

Job 8:16

“He thrives before the sun, And his shoots spread out over his garden.

ok, that’s my list!!!  What’s your top 5 favorite things for the week?

a little step may be the beginning of a great journey

I talk at the beginning of every month about writing goals.  I encourage my team to write them and ROCK them!!!

I always make my goals, I share them and I am excited, but lately, I have not been following through with them.  I will accomplish a couple of them, but I am not intentional.

Also, for the last 6 months, my big goal has been to revive this blog.  Yep, I write it down EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH.  “blog at least once a week”  and I haven’t even done one blog post in SO LONG.  Like, over a year.

The inspiration will come, and I will think, “oooo I need to blog about that”  and life gets in the way!  I get distracted with baby jack, and 11 year old girlie emotions, and my sensitive 10 year old boy.  Seriously, who knew parenting was this hard…and it keeps getting harder, and harder…

So, as the summer is going to start I am putting it out there in the universe that my goal for the summer is to blog 3 times a week!!!!! 3 TIMES!!  AT LEAST!

Because, I am, THE IDAHO MOM!  Right?!?  And summer is WHERE IT IS AT!

OK, so talk to me, what are your goals that you keep writing down and then failing at?  Losing weight?  Working out?  Something with your business?  Something Personal?  Let’s share and keep each other accountable!!
